Startup Opportunity in Personalized Nutrition Planning Based on Indian Diets
Abstract
The growing burden of lifestyle-related diseases in India, combined with increasing health awareness and digital adoption, has created significant opportunities in the personalized nutrition sector. Generic diet plans often fail to accommodate India’s diverse dietary patterns, cultural preferences, and regional food habits. This research paper examines the startup opportunity in personalized nutrition planning based on Indian diets, with a focus on market potential, consumer preferences, technological integration, and business feasibility. Using a descriptive research design, primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire, supported by secondary data from government reports, academic journals, and industry studies. Data analysis reveals a strong consumer preference for Indian diet-based personalized plans, high acceptance of digital nutrition platforms, and price sensitivity among potential users. The study further highlights the role of artificial intelligence, mobile applications, and data analytics in delivering scalable and customized nutrition solutions. Based on the findings, the paper proposes strategic recommendations and policy suggestions aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, improving public health outcomes, and strengthening India’s digital health ecosystem. The study concludes that personalized nutrition planning aligned with Indian diets presents a sustainable and socially impactful startup opportunity.
