Abstract

India’s agriculture sector faces profound challenges from climate change, threatening food security, rural livelihoods, and national development. Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents unprecedented opportunities to enhance the resilience of Indian agriculture by enabling data-driven decision-making, precision farming, and early warning systems. This research paper examines the potential of AI to accelerate the adoption of climate-resilient agricultural practices in India, investigates the social and infrastructural barriers to effective AI deployment, and proposes policy recommendations grounded in local realities. Through an analysis of existing case studies, datasets, and relevant literature, the paper explores the intersection of AI, climate adaptation, and agrarian transformation, drawing attention to issues of data fairness, inclusivity, and participatory governance. The findings highlight the need for context-sensitive AI solutions, robust data ecosystems, and farmer-centric innovation pathways to realize the promise of AI for sustainable and equitable agricultural transformation in a changing climate.
