The present study aimed to study the level of self-efficacy among adolescents with respect to type of school (English medium and Marathi medium) and type of region (urban and rural). A 2 × 2 factorial research design was used for this study. The sample consisted of 120 adolescents (male and female) aged between 13 and 19 years, selected from English and Marathi medium schools in Satara district using purposive sampling technique. The Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Dr. Arun Kumar Singh and Dr. Shruti Narain was used for data collection. Descriptive statistics indicated that adolescents generally possessed a relatively high level of self-efficacy and that the data were normally distributed. A two-way ANOVA was applied to analyze the effects of type of school, type of region, and their interaction on self-efficacy. The results revealed no significant main effect of type of school, no significant main effect of type of region, and no significant interaction effect between type of school and type of region on self-efficacy. These findings suggest that adolescents’ self-efficacy is relatively stable across school medium and regional background. The study highlights the importance of focusing on universal psychological and environmental factors rather than demographic distinctions in enhancing adolescents’ self-efficacy.
