Abstract

Skill development is a crucial catalyst for women empowerment in India, fostering self-reliance and contributing to broader national development with women comprising approximately 48% of the nation's population. Women empowerment is essential for achieving economic growth and social progress. The aim of "Promoting Independence and Decision Making" can be achieved through skill development which provides women with the tools to become self-reliant enabling them to make informed decisions regarding their lives, finances and future. Women can achieve "Economic Self-Sufficiency" by acquiring new skills and they can access diverse employment opportunities and freedom from economic dependence. They can also contribute significantly to their family's financial well-being and the national economy. Empowered women become role models, inspiring future generations and challenging traditional patriarchal norms that often limit their autonomy and opportunities and thus change "Societal Dynamics". Skill acquisition not only creates job opportunities but also builds confidence, improves overall personality and enhances women status within the society, hence "Holistic Personal Development" is sought. Vocational training programs specifically targeting uneducated women can provide them with essential skills to overcome barriers and participate meaningfully in the work force, which fills Educational Gaps.
