Publication Ethics and Malpractice Policy

At IIP: World Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences, we are deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. We uphold transparency, accountability, and trustworthiness in every stage of the editorial and publishing process.

Our ethics policy is guided by international standards such as those set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other recognized scholarly publishing bodies.

Ethical Guidelines

1. Authorship and Contributions

  • Authorship should be limited to individuals who have substantially contributed to the research design, execution, or interpretation.

  • All contributors must be appropriately credited. Ghost authorship, honorary authorship, or false claims of authorship are strictly prohibited.

2. Conflict of Interest

  • Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest—financial, personal, or institutional—that may influence the research or its evaluation.

  • Disclosures must be made at the time of submission, review, or editorial decision-making.

3. Plagiarism and Originality

  • All submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and free of plagiarism.

  • Proper citation of all referenced sources is mandatory.

  • Data falsification, fabrication, or manipulation will result in immediate rejection and possible blacklisting.

4. Research Ethics Compliance

  • Research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must adhere to ethical research protocols and obtain prior Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee approval.

  • Consent procedures and confidentiality standards must be clearly stated.

5. Peer Review Integrity

  • All submissions are subject to double-blind peer review to ensure impartiality and academic rigor.

  • Reviewers must provide constructive, objective, and timely feedback and must avoid any conflicts of interest or personal bias.

  • Confidentiality of reviewed manuscripts must be strictly maintained.

Malpractice Policies

1. Handling Allegations of Misconduct

  • Allegations of research misconduct (plagiarism, data manipulation, unethical research practices) will be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly.

  • Depending on the severity, actions may include:

    • Rejection of the manuscript

    • Retraction of the published article

    • Notification to the author’s institution

2. Corrections and Retractions

  • Retractions will be issued in cases of serious ethical violations, including misconduct or false claims.

  • Corrections/Errata will be published when factual errors are discovered that do not compromise the integrity of the research.

3. Editorial Objectivity

  • Editors must handle submissions fairly, without discrimination based on author identity, affiliation, gender, race, or nationality.

  • Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where they have a personal or professional conflict of interest.

  • Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.

By enforcing these policies, IIP: World Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences ensures a transparent, ethical, and responsible publishing environment, contributing to the credibility and growth of global scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.
