Abstract

The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has emerged as a transformative digital payment system fostering financial inclusion in rural India by overcoming long-standing geographical, economic, and institutional barriers to banking access. This study examines the extent to which UPI facilitates integration of rural populations into the formal financial ecosystem.
