SPATIAL INEQUALITIES AND PATHWAYS TO INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT: A GEOGRAPHICAL ANALYSIS

Abstract

This paper examines the concept of spatial inequality, which refers to the unequal distribution of resources, wealth, and opportunities across geographic areas. It explores the causes of spatial disparities, including historical, structural, and agglomeration effects, and highlights the significant impacts on individuals’ quality of life. The study further discusses inclusive development as a policy approach aimed at addressing these inequalities, emphasizing strategies like regional development plans, rural development programs, and universal access to services, inclusive governance, and skill development. The paper argues that inclusive development, when implemented geographically, can bridge disparities and promote equitable and sustainable growth.
