This research paper5 examines the problems faced by tourist, pilgrims in Shikhar Shinganapur tourist center in Man teshsil of Satara Distict. Shikhar Singanapur is an important religious tourist center located in Man Tehsil of Satara District, Maharashtra, attracting a large number of devotees throughout the year. Despite its religious and cultural significance, the tourist center faces several developmental and management-related problems. Inadequate basic infrastructure such as roads, parking facilities, drinking water supply, sanitation, and accommodation creates inconvenience for tourists and pilgrims. Seasonal overcrowding during festivals and special religious events leads to traffic congestion, waste management issues, and pressure on limited local resources. Poor drainage and improper solid waste disposal adversely affect environmental quality and public health. Lack of proper planning and maintenance of amenities reduces the overall tourist experience. Insufficient public transport connectivity restricts access for elderly and economically weaker pilgrims. Unregulated commercial activities and encroachment near the temple premises disturb the sacred atmosphere. Limited coordination among local authorities, temple management, and tourism departments hampers effective governance. Environmental degradation due to deforestation and soil erosion poses long-term sustainability concerns. Absence of tourist information centers and safety facilities further adds to visitor difficulties. These problems highlight the urgent need for integrated and sustainable development planning. Systematic infrastructure improvement, environmental conservation, and participatory management are essential to enhance the status of Shikhar Singanapur as a well-managed religious tourist destination.
