Abstract

Environmental sustainability represents the balanced coexistence of economic development with ecological preservation. India, as one of the fastest-growing economies, faces critical environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, and resource depletion. Green economic practices — including renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, eco-friendly industries, waste management, and green policies — provide a strategic pathway to reconcile development with sustainability. This paper examines the role of green economic practices in advancing environmental sustainability in India, highlights policy frameworks, evaluates sectoral progress, and discusses challenges and future prospects.
