The COVID-19 pandemic significantly accelerated the adoption of e-commerce in India, transforming consumer purchase behaviour across urban, semi-urban, and rural markets. This study aims to assess the post-pandemic shifts in consumer preferences and online shopping patterns using secondary data from government reports, industry publications, and platform analytics. The findings indicate a substantial increase in online shopping frequency, a surge in demand for groceries, essentials, and health products, and widespread adoption of digital payment methods such as UPI and wallets. Regional variations reveal that tier 2 and tier 3 cities are emerging as new growth drivers in the Indian e-commerce landscape. The study provides actionable insights for business strategists, policymakers, and researchers seeking to understand and capitalize on post-pandemic consumer behaviour.
