Abstract

The twenty-first century is characterized by complex and interconnected global challenges, climate change, social inequality, technological disruption, conflict, health crises, and the minimization of democratic values. These issues transcend national borders and require collective, informed, and innovative responses. Education, as a powerful driver of social transformation, has the potential to equip individuals and societies with the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary to respond effectively to these challenges. This conceptual paper explores how education can be harnessed to address contemporary global challenges. It argues that education must evolve beyond traditional knowledge transmission to cultivate competencies such as critical thinking, sustainability literacy, global citizenship, digital fluency, and ethical responsibility. Through this lens, education becomes a strategic tool for shaping flexible, equitable, and sustainable futures
