आज 21 व्या शतकात वावरत असताना आपणास एक गोष्ट मान्य करावी लागेल, व ती म्हणजे जागतिक पातळीवरती भारताने आपला स्वतःचा असा एक ठसा उमटवलेला आहे. परंतु जागतिक पातळीवर विचार करायला गेल्यास, भारत व इतर देशांना एक समान तराजूत तोलून उपयोग नाही, कारण भारतासमोरील आव्हाने व त्याची जडणघडण ही एका खूप वेगळ्या दृष्टिकोनातून पाहण्याची गरज आहे. खरे म्हणजे एक राष्ट्र म्हणून जडणघडण होत असताना कोणत्याही प्रकारे सर्व राष्ट्रांना एका बिंदूपासून पाहणे योग्य ठरणार नाही. याच न्यायाला धरून भारताला सुद्धा त्याच्या राष्ट्र उभारणीत विविध अडचणींना सामोरे जावे लागले, तसेच त्याला विविध घटकांचा फायदा देखील झाला. म्हणूनच जगात राष्ट्र म्हणून उभ्या टाकलेल्या अनेक देशांचा प्रवास आपापल्या परीने संघर्षाचा व गौरवाचा राहिलेला आहे.
